For Davia Moffat, the path to becoming a Registered Nurse (RN) in the UK was a journey defined by resilience and patience. Her story is a powerful reminder that no matter how long it takes, dreams are always worth the wait.
"Never give up. Your dreams are worth the wait," Davia reflected, looking back on her incredible journey.
A Journey Paused but Never Forgotten
Davia first began her journey with MMA Healthcare Recruitment in 2017, when she received a job offer to work as a nurse in the UK. However, the timing wasn’t right, and life had other plans. She shifted her focus, building her career, gaining valuable experience, and starting a family. The dream of working in the UK took a backseat while she prioritised her family and professional growth.
Then, the COVID-19 pandemic reignited her ambitions. “Something inside me urged me to try again and make this dream a reality,” Davia shared. She resumed the process, passed her CBT, and reconnected with MMA Recruitment. With several job offers on the table, Davia made a significant decision. She returned to the same employer that had originally extended an offer in 2017, believing it was meant to be.
“Their values, offer, and support made it impossible to refuse. It felt like the perfect fit.”
In December 2023, Davia had her interview and secured her job offer. But just as everything seemed to be falling into place, unexpected challenges emerged. “For a moment, I considered giving up,” she admitted. “But I reminded myself why I started. If I truly wanted to achieve this goal, I had to keep pushing forward.”
Overcoming Challenges with Support
One of the most difficult hurdles was finding suitable accommodation before her visa was issued. However, thanks to the unwavering support of Heena from MMA Recruitment, Davia never felt alone.
“On days when I wanted to cry, Heena would reach out with solutions, encouragement, and the motivation to keep going,” Davia recalled.
Then came the OSCE training, where Davia met an inspiring group of individuals who quickly became lifelong friends. The OSCE itself was challenging and emotionally overwhelming, but through teamwork and perseverance, they succeeded together.
“Every challenge, every obstacle, and every tear was worth it,” she said proudly.
Living the Dream
Today, Davia is living her dream, working as a Registered Nurse at HC One in the UK. The journey was not easy, but every struggle made her success even more meaningful.
“Now that I am here, I would not change a single thing. The experience, the lessons, and the relationships I have built are priceless.”
Her advice to others on the same path is simple but powerful. “Keep pushing forward. The road may be tough, but the reward is worth every step.”
